Shelter Housekeepers needed for all shifts (8am-4pm, 4pm-12am & 12am-8am). You will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the shelter, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for residents and staff. Hourly rate is $17/hour. Locations throughout Brooklyn and Manhattan.
Key Responsibilities:
Clean and sanitize living areas, kitchens, bathrooms, and communal spaces.
Launder linens, towels, and residents' personal items.
Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and ensure proper storage.
Dispose of trash and hazardous materials safely.
Report maintenance issues and ensure safety standards are followed.
Assist with preparing rooms for new residents.
Collaborate with staff and provide respectful service to residents.
Qualifications:
2+ years of previous cleaning or housekeeping experience required, preferably in a business or shelter setting.
Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Respectful, compassionate attitude toward residents.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform physical tasks.
High School diploma or equivalent required
