Hi!
I have 2 projects.
1. Legal Research or Consultation if you already know the answers. I want to know if there is jurisdiction to sue in the U.S. a well known reporter from another country [the reporter lives in South-America] whose main work is in social media platforms, including youtube, FB and X. [Provided that the defamation elements are met]. The potential plaintiff doesn't reside in the U.S. nor he has a visa to come to the U.S. He resides in a different country than the reporter. He is willing to sue here because he knows that the reporter does malicious reporting [example: she has defamed other people related to him in a way that also affects him using blatant false financial documentation and does so because she is friends with the government] to please the government. I would like to know the current precedent on whether it is possible or not to sue her here in the U.S.
2. If doable, we would like to hire an attorney or law firm to sue her.
3. What would be your fee for the above? In the case of the attorney, do you handle any portion on contingency fees?
I am an attorney but I don't have experience in defamation lawsuits.
