A boutique law firm specializing in medical malpractice, personal injury and employment law is seeking a law student intern for a temporary paid internship lasting 3 to 6 months. This opportunity offers hands-on experience in plaintiff-side civil litigation, allowing interns to work closely with experienced attorneys on complex and meaningful cases.
Interns will assist in case investigation, discovery, and trial preparation. This role is ideal for students interested in litigation, client advocacy, and the intersection of medicine and law.
Responsibilities:
Conduct legal and medical research using legal platforms related to ongoing cases.
Draft and edit pleadings, discovery requests, and correspondence.
File documents with the NYS and Federal Courts.
Review, summarize, and organize medical records, deposition transcripts, and evidence.
Assist attorneys with client intake, case management, and trial preparation.
Summarize depositions, discovery responses, and medical reports.
Perform administrative and case support tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in an accredited law school.
Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational ability.
Demonstrated interest in medical malpractice or personal injury law.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and work collaboratively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research platforms (Westlaw or LexisNexis).
