Shakhnevich Law Group, a busy personal injury law firm in Brooklyn, is seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Intake Paralegal to join our team.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping people, can multitask under pressure, and has strong communication skills. You’ll be the first point of contact for new clients — gathering case information, explaining next steps, and ensuring a smooth and professional intake process.
Responsibilities:
Answer and return calls from potential new clients
Conduct client intakes and gather key details about accidents and injuries
Communicate with insurance companies to set up new claims and provide required documentation
Enter and organize client information in our case management system
Coordinate with attorneys to review and qualify new cases
Maintain ongoing communication with clients to provide updates and next steps
Assist with case setup and file organization
Requirements:
Prior experience as an intake paralegal, legal assistant, or client relations specialist in a law firm preferred (personal injury experience a plus)
Strong communication and listening skills — empathy is key
Organized and able to manage multiple intakes at once
Experience with mycase software helpful
Must be bilingual — English and Russian, Spanish is a plus!
