Seeking experienced personal injury paralegal (at least five years of experience in the skills listed here) to work in Manhattan or remotely with experienced lawyer to handle car accident cases, slip and fall cases, cases against the City of New York, and cases involving serious injury/wrongful death cases arising from construction accidents, car/motorcycle/truck crashes, and other tragic events. The position can be a remote one for the right person, so if you are a top paralegal and you are currently working in an office, have top skills, and you would prefer working entirely remotely, this is a great opportunity. Heavy client contact, particularly on the car accident cases. Ability to set up files, file no fault applications, obtain insurance info, and compile medical records, file complaints, motions and other pleadings with NYSCEF, and the ability to coordinate and calendar motions, court appearances, examinations before trial, and other scheduling, and document your work in case management software are necessary skills. Our work environment is supportive and the firm and attorney will help you acclimate and learn his caseload, and he will work with you and your style so that you feel most efficient and happy in your role. Ability and willingness to communicate with lawyer on the phone is important, particularly about his schedule or deadlines or a client that needs immediate attention, as the lawyer handles complex cases and gets focused on preparing a motion or handling an EBT or court appearance, and if an email is not answered immediately, then a phone call needs to be made. In other words, he is seeking someone who will have his back so that all clients are best served.
