Procurement Specialist / Vendor Relations Manager

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist / Vendor Relations Manager to manage and expand our vendor relationships and procurement activities. This role involves identifying and vetting potential suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the efficient acquisition of goods and services at competitive prices. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of supply chain management, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

Vendor Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors. Act as the primary point of contact for all vendor communications.

Account Setup and Management: Open and manage accounts with new vendors. Ensure all necessary documentation and processes are in place for successful transactions.

Negotiation and Contract Management: Negotiate terms and contracts with suppliers to secure advantageous agreements. Review and manage contracts to ensure compliance and optimal terms.

Purchasing and Procurement: Oversee the purchasing process, from identifying needs to placing orders. Ensure purchases are cost-effective and meet quality standards.

Market Analysis: Research and analyze market trends to identify new potential vendors and products. Stay informed about industry changes that could impact pricing and availability.

Inventory Management: Work closely with inventory managers to forecast needs and ensure a steady supply of goods.

Cost Analysis and Reduction: Continually assess spending and seek ways to reduce costs while maintaining quality.

Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all procurement activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements. Assess and mitigate risks associated with supply chain processes.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Proven experience in procurement, vendor management, or a related role.

Strong negotiation and contract management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to analyze market trends and make informed purchasing decisions.

Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
