Job Description:

Funny Face Bakery is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Inventory Management Specialist to enhance our inventory system and optimize our operations. From monitoring sales trends to forecasting inventory needs, the ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth flow of our baked goods from production to storefronts.

Key Responsibilities:

Regularly monitor sales data and inventory levels to anticipate demand and adjust stock levels accordingly.

Coordinate with storefront teams and production to ensure accurate inventory counts and timely replenishment.

Transfer holiday-specific products from online inventory to storefronts based on shipping deadlines.

Plan and prepare for upcoming holidays by forecasting inventory needs and coordinating production schedules four weeks in advance.

Analyze past sales data to make informed projections and adjustments to inventory quantities.

Weekly check-ins on slack with managers on inventory updates

Maintain accurate records of online inventory and facilitate the distribution of products for storefront deliveries.

Identify underperforming products and recommend strategies for discontinuation or adjustment of batch sizes.

Take initiative to restock or increase quantities of popular items to meet customer demand.

Determine optimal distribution of inventory among different store locations based on sales trends and customer demographics.

Develop and implement a system for efficient production lead times, considering seasonal fluctuations and peak demand periods.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in inventory management, preferably in a retail or food industry setting.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and trends to make informed decisions.

Familiarity with inventory forecasting techniques, including consideration of holidays and social trends.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.

Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Excel.

As we continue to grow, we're looking for a dedicated Inventory Specialist & Pop Culture Enthusiast to join our team and establish a brand-new inventory management system from the ground up.

Position Overview:

The Decorated Cookie Inventory Specialist is responsible for creating and managing our inventory of decorated and Gooey Cookies, ensuring all store locations are properly stocked, and orders are fulfilled with precision. This is a first-time project, requiring someone who is self-motivated, highly organized, and capable of designing and implementing an efficient inventory system from scratch. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver who thrives on challenges and is passionate about beautifully crafted cookies.

This position starts as part-time (12-16 hours per week) with the potential to transition to full-time. The likely schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, but we are flexible and can adjust based on your availability.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a new inventory management system for decorated cookies, ensuring products are stored properly and accurately.

Track inventory levels, reporting any shortages or surpluses to the production team.

Coordinate with the baking, storefront and decorating teams to ensure a seamless flow of products from production to sales.

Using an Inventory Integration app, maintain accurate records of all inventory transactions, including detailed documentation of any issues or discrepancies.

Assist in developing and implementing inventory management procedures and systems.

Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.

Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and prevent loss or waste.

Conduct post-mortems and strategy planning sessions after major selling periods (e.g., holidays) and present findings and recommendations to leadership.

Develop and present inventory strategy plans to leadership before key selling periods such as holidays and seasonal events.

Support the production team during peak seasons or large orders as needed.

Understand and anticipate selling holidays (e.g., Christmas, Hanukkah, Mother’s Day, wedding season) as well as less obvious moments like baseball season and zodiac signs, to effectively align our inventory schedule.

Qualifications:

A passion for pop culture and cookies is a must!

Proficient in Google Sheets for tracking and managing inventory data.

Previous experience in inventory management, preferably in a food or bakery environment.

Strong organizational skills with a meticulous attention to detail.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Familiarity with inventory management software or the ability to quickly learn new systems.

A good understanding of seasonal and event-based inventory demands.

GOALS

Identify Poorly Selling Products: Determine criteria for discontinuing products that aren’t selling well.

Use Inventory management Shopify Integration

Discuss with storefront staff with regular meetings and active communication to contribute qualitative feedback from customers

Optimize Batch Sizes: Decide when to increase or decrease batch sizes based on demand.

Understanding and monitoring the Sell-Through-Rate of our constant cookies and our holiday cookies

Restock Popular Cookies: Establish indicators for restocking cookies that are selling well.

Distribute Inventory Effectively: Develop a strategy to allocate more or less inventory to specific locations based on sales data.

Determine Production Lead Time: Find the “sweet spot” for how long it takes to produce new batches (minimum and maximum lead time) and understand how it varies during busy times, such as Q4.

Overarching Goal: Gain basic knowledge of inventory forecasting, including:

Planning for holidays and social trends

Adjusting inventory movement based on shipping times

Favoring online quantity for holidays with specific buying patterns (aka not letting fathers day/mother’s day sold out online until close to the holiday weekend because customers tend to not buy these cookies in advance in person but will plan to ship them)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20,000.00 - $24,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 16 per week
