Position: Promotion & Marketing Intern for Mapspot in New York City
Location: New York City, NY
Compensation: $30 per day (7-hour shifts)
About Us:
Mapspot is an innovative mobile application that allows users to claim unique “spots” on a digital map of the Earth. Each spot creates a 100-foot diameter virtual space—about half an acre—linked to the user’s Mapspot profile. As users physically move through each others spots in the real world or tap on them in the app, the users profile is displayed, showcasing their username, bio, website, and shared posts. A totally new way for influencers, businesses or anyone to promote their digital content that we call “virtual land”.
Job Description:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and outgoing intern to help us promote Mapspot to New Yorkers in Washington Square Park. This role involves engaging with pedestrians, explaining the app’s features, and encouraging them to download and try Mapspot and subscribe.
Additionally, you will assist in filming user testimonials and interviews to create social proof videos that will be posted online to help grow our user base.
Responsibilities:
Approach and engage with pedestrians to inform them about Mapspot.
Distribute promotional materials such as flyers and brochures.
Demonstrate the app’s features on a smartphone.
Answer questions and provide information about the app’s benefits.
Encourage downloads, sign-ups, and selling subscriptions.
Assist in filming user testimonials and interviews to create engaging social proof videos.
Requirements:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Outgoing and approachable personality.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Comfortable using and demonstrating mobile apps.
Passion for technology and social media.
Basic knowledge of filming techniques is a plus but not required.
