Leading New York City-based Baby & Kids Design Company is seeking a talented Freelance Designer to work on a capsule collection, expanding our baby apparel line. The successful candidate will have a "fun and whimsical, yet sophisticated design style."

Duties and Responsibilities will include:
Taking direction/inspiration from VP of Design and existing collections/prints and patterns
Sketch Silhouettes/croquis (CADS) and add graphics, embroideries, prints and knit stitches into existing templates or created silhouettes
Create Presentation Boards and Materials for capsule collection
Must have tech design experience and be comfortable grading patterns
Develop Spec & Tech Packages for Development based on our development template
Requirements:
Proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator
Excellent drawing skills and color sense. Ability to adapt to our brand aesthetic
Flexible working in a variety of product techniques and lines
Highly organized with attention to detail and excellent follow through skills
Fashion Design background
Experience with knitting/knits a plus
Graphics experience a plus
Candidate must be able to come into our showroom at least part of the time they are working, to be able to reference our sample and our aesthetic and get feedback from VP of Design (must be local to NYC area)
The successful candidate will be a self-starter, able to meet tight deadlines.
