Overview
Small interior design and architecture firm specializing in residential renovation and decor seeks smart, extremely well-organized, and self-motivated interior design or architecture intern.
Candidate
Academic background or work experience in architecture/interior design or completion of 3 semesters of college coursework preferred. Others with comparable experience or interest but no formal education in design welcome to apply. Ideal candidate is extremely well organized, intelligent, responsible and observant; has great verbal and written communication skills, as well as industry-specific computer skills; has own computer; and is able to work independently. Accepting IDP, NCIDQ, or school credit applicants. If you’re passionate about design, we’d love for you to apply!
Description
The work is a range of administrative, clerical, design, and marketing tasks, and no day is ever the same. Specific responsibilities varybut include:
product sourcing & research
site visits & documentation
prep for presentations & installations
progress photos
social media
Skills and qualities we are looking for:
Exceptional organization
Excellent verbal and written communication
Creative and artistic sensibilities
Resourcefulness
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Comfortability with deadlines and punctuality
Understanding of basic design concepts
Recommended software skills:
Mac-based platform familiarity
Photoshop
Microsoft Office
Experience or Interest a plus in:
AutoCAD
SketchUp
Revit
