Job Title: Buyers Assistant (Manufacturing Environment)

Job Overview:

We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented entry level Buyer to join our purchasing team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Buyer will be responsible for procuring raw materials, components, and supplies needed for production while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and ensuring the timely delivery of goods.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the purchasing of materials and supplies required for production based on demand forecasts and inventory levels.

Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery capabilities.

Negotiate contracts and pricing terms with vendors to secure the best value.

Monitor inventory levels and reorder materials as needed to avoid production delays.

Maintain accurate records of all purchase orders, supplier communications, and deliveries.

Collaborate with the production and logistics teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.

Monitor and ensure that suppliers comply with delivery schedules and quality standards.

Resolve any issues with suppliers regarding quality, delivery, or pricing discrepancies.

Analyze market trends to recommend cost-saving measures or process improvements.

Ensure that all purchases comply with company policies and budgetary guidelines.

Prepare regular reports on inventory, purchasing, and supplier performance.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Experience as a Buyer, Procurement Specialist, or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.

Negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain supplier relationships.

Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks.

Proficiency in MS Office and purchasing software or JobBOSS (e.g., ERP systems).

Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.

Knowledge of manufacturing processes and material requirements.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with cost analysis and contract management.

Familiarity with Lean or Just-in-Time inventory systems.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
