The role requires managing production operations and leading a team of production staff at a wholesale bakery facility in Brooklyn, NY specializing in high quality pastries and baked goods.
Responsibilities:
Lead the bakery team and maintain a presence on the factory floor while anticipating & addressing production needs throughout the day
Coordinate and assist with proper end-of-day close-down procedures
Train and mentor team members by identifying and developing people’s strengths and addressing areas of improvement
Assist with recipe development, execution, and updates, and maintain extensive knowledge of ingredients, full product line, and the highest quality control standards
Help set clear expectations for team members regarding punctuality, quality control standards, and efficiency
Suggest and implement operational improvements to improve production processes
Ensure that all products are produced in a timely manner
Ensure that cleanliness, maintenance, and safety standards are always met
Actively engage in daily and weekly meetings with management to ensure the smooth
running of the bakery.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Written and spoken fluency in English
Previous bakery production experience.
Ability to delegate tasks and keep team members motivated
Recipe creation, execution, and scaling experience
Punctuality and reliability
Excellent organizational and systems skills
Ability to work in a full-time role on-site
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods of time
Food Handler’s License or Food Protection License
