Shipping Lead / Shipping Manager
Location: Shirley, NY

Compensation: $50,000/year (hourly, approx. $24/hr)
Additional Compensation:
Quarterly profit sharing (5–10% of salary)
Annual bonus (minimum of 1 week’s salary)
Potential to earn $52,000–$55,000+ with bonuses

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Shipping Lead, who may be considered for a Shipping Manager title depending on qualifications. This hands-on leadership role is ideal for someone with a strong background in LTL and small parcel shipping, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage both people and processes effectively.
You will oversee shipping operations, supervise 2 team members, and play a key role in customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily shipping operations
Assign appropriate carriers to each load
Operate shipping software, especially UPS WorldShip
Negotiate shipping rates and identify/correct shipping issues
Provide excellent customer service related to shipping and logistics
Operate a forklift to move, load, and unload pallets
Receive goods and manage inventory in pallet racking systems
Ensure accuracy and timeliness in all outbound shipments
Communicate effectively in writing and verbally with internal teams and customers
Use basic math to manage weights, costs, and freight calculations
Qualifications
3+ years of management or supervisory experience in a shipping or logistics role
Experience with LTL carriers, UPS, and shipping software (WorldShip)
Strong computer skills, including Windows and Outlook
Excellent communication and writing skills
Good math and problem-solving abilities
Clean driver’s license required
Forklift certification or experience required
Ability to lift up to 70
