We are a Long Island based electronics component manufacturer looking to add to our growing team. We are currently looking to fulfill roles in our metal stamping department and seek individuals with the following qualifications:
5+ years’ experience in the setup and operation of progressive dies and stamping presses. Familiarity with in-die tapping and sensor placements. Basic understanding of blueprints, dimensions and tolerances.
Competence in using standard inspection and measuring equipment including but not limited to:
Caliper
Micrometer
Graduated Scale
Pin Gages
Optical Comparator
Height Gage
This position reports to: Stamping Production Manager
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Verifies correct material and documentation for production run
Installs and aligns dies in press according to specifications
Adjusts ram stroke to specified height as needed
Threads and positions coil material through feed line equipment into progressive die
Positions and adjusts feed line equipment, scrap trays, and part containers
Operates automatic press line observing operation to detect misalignment or malfunction
Reads and interprets blueprints and job traveler instructions
Inspects work pieces for conformance to specifications and adjusts to correct errors.
Isolates non-conforming product
Report quality and production issues to Prod. Mgr. immediately
Labels and moves product per procedures
Completes basic machine troubleshooting and corrective maintenance
Cleans and lubricates machines and maintains work area in a neat and orderly fashion
Maintains a safe environment by following procedures and highlighting any potential hazards
Addresses press line problems by enlisting the help of Production Management, Tool Room Management and Manufacturing Maintenance.
Able to identify, analyze, and address production problems with the aid of Management Support
Perform other duties as assigned
