Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Yes I Can
Pay Range: $25 per hour

Job Overview: As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at Yes I Can, you will play a key role in providing care and support to children with mental health challenges. You will assist them in achieving greater independence by implementing their individualized care plans, supporting them in daily living skills, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
Job Responsibilities:
Skills Training & Development: Provide guidance and assistance in personal care, daily living activities, and life skills to help individuals reach their fullest potential.
Socialization & Counseling: Engage individuals in social activities, fostering community involvement, and supporting emotional well-being.
Recreation & Leisure Activities: Plan and participate in recreational activities to promote a balanced and enjoyable lifestyle.
Community Resource Utilization: Help individuals access community resources to enhance their quality of life.
Working under the supervision of the Program Director and Interdisciplinary Team, the DSP will implement professionally developed activities and therapies in alignment with each individual’s care plan. The goal is to foster independence and well-being for every individual served.
Primary Duties:
Advocate for the rights, needs, and wants of all individuals.
Assist management in coordinating essential support services, such as medical and vocational services.
Accompany individuals to medical appointments and ensure accurate documentation of medical information.
Maintain detailed records, including personal files, program plans, progress reports, and other necessary documentation.
Follow emergency procedures to ensure the safety and welfare of individuals at all times.
Provide coverage based on staffing schedules, understanding that flexibility and occasional overtime may be required.
Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience in a residential care setting preferred.
Valid driver’s license preferred.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
