This is a contract job for college students whose the main major is English (Bachelors or Master level) and who want a little cash for holiday season. The proofreader is supposed to receive a rough copy of the manuscript (Microsoft Word) which was initially written in French and unskillfully translated in English. While reading the manuscript, the proofreader is expected to identify grammatical and vocabulary mistakes which prevent English speakers to understand its content. As he or she reads the manuscript in critical manner, he or she is supposed to make necessary corrections which include syntax and semantic. The goal is for English speakers of the US to follow the thread and understand the book without being embarrassed.
COMPENSATION: To be discussed; but we propose 2 per page or 400-500 per week + Bonus.
LOCATION: This is a remote job, which does not require any travel. Email, Zoom Meeting or GroupMe communication.
DURATION: About 200 pages to proofread, which can be done in one or 2 weeks
CONTRACT: If successful, the reader might be hired for similar activities in the future.
