Position: Social Practitioner - Fountain House Bronx
Reports To: Program Director

Fountain House recognized a unique opportunity to expand programming to the South Bronx and in July of 2013, Fountain House Bronx officially opened its doors providing more New Yorkers living with mental illness the opportunity to be part of its unique working community.

Job Summary:
Fountain House Bronx is looking for creative, dynamic and community-focused individuals to provide direct support to adults with serious mental illness in an innovative community-based program. We utilize a person-in-environment approach to create working communities that help individuals with mental illness successfully manage their recovery. Candidates will join a team of five (5) staff and approximately sixty (60) individuals with mental illness to create a holistic community of recovery that follows our evidence-based model.
Job Functions:
⢠Engage individuals in the Fountain House Bronx community as part of their rehabilitation.
⢠Individual vocational supports.
⢠Case management.
⢠Use the community to design positive interventions to deal with common barriers such as social isolation, poor self-esteem, anxiety, symptom management and poverty.
⢠Work in a team environment.
⢠Other duties, as assigned.
Other Requirements:
⢠Must possess current and valid U.S. work authorization and be eligible to work for any U.S. employer without sponsorship.
⢠Bachelor's degree required/Master's degree preferred.
⢠Positive, dynamic and engaging personality.
⢠Flexibility, as demonstrated by interchangeability with other clubhouse staff, staying late or arriving early, if necessary to fulfill clubhouse or member needs.
⢠Must be able to work Monday - Friday: 9AM to 5PM and occasionally work on evenings and weekends.
⢠Working knowledge of mental illness.
⢠Experience working in a community setting.
⢠Non-clinical, community approach.
⢠Driver's License preferred.
⢠Bi-lingual a plus.
⢠CASAC certification a plus.

Starting Salary: $42K with Master's degree, $45K with MSW degree
