Administrative Assistant

Our client, a higher education institution located on the Upper West Side, Manhattan, is seeking a Temporary Administrative Assistant to support their health services team. This position will start as soon as possible and last for 3-6 months, with possibility to extend longer or convert permanently. This person will be in the office 5 days/week. Hours are Monday-Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm. (Summer hours are Monday-Thursday 9:30am - 4pm, Friday 9:30am to 1pm).Responsibilities:Oversee management of electronic medical record system and handle all scheduling, billing, and data reportsUse PowerPoint and Google Sheets to assist in the creation of reports and presentationsAssist with administrative functions including scanning and distribution of varying documentsPerform data entry as needed and respond to student requests regarding student health and immunization recordsCompile monthly insurance reimbursementsAnswer phone lines and respond to desk inquiries, answer general student questions about procedures and wait timeCreate appointment schedules for the health service cliniciansQualifications:At least 3 years previous similar experience; medical office experience a plusExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced environmentExperience using Microsoft and Google programsSelf-starter mentality who is able to take initiativeAbility to maintain discretion and confidentiality relating to patients and staffCollege degree or equivalent work experience requiredExperience with working with an electronic medical record systemExceptional interpersonal skills and ability to interact tactfully with students, parents, and staffAbility to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously, anticipate problems and offer solutions in a fast-paced environment and under pressureAbility to ethically and strictly follow policies concerning confidentiality of personal information relating to patients and staffNeat, professional appearance suitable for a health services office.Self-starter and takes initiativeCompensation:DOE up to $22/hrBeacon Hill is an Equal Opportunity Employer that values the strength diversity brings to the workplace.
