Pain d’Avignon is a small business with a serious passion for the craft of bread and pastry making, and for the enjoyment of eating them. We produce fresh breads and pastries daily from our commissary in Long Island City for our wholesale clients, as well as our retail locations located throughout NYC.

We are seeking a dedicated, reliable team member to join our admin/customer service team and provide effective customer service by using their knowledge of company products, and procedures. A customer service representative, or CSR, will act as a liaison, provide product/services information and resolve any emerging problems that our customer accounts might face with accuracy and efficiency. The goal is to ensure excellent service standards, respond efficiently to customer inquiries and maintain high customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

Manage incoming calls in a friendly, and professional manner.

Direct new sales leads to Sales team.

Recognizes and uses opportunities to up sell.

Accurately process orders. These will be received via phone, fax, and email.

Identify and assess customers’ needs to achieve satisfaction.

Build sustainable relationships and trust with customer accounts through open and interactive communication.

Provide accurate, valid and complete information.

Responsible for daily updates of client information in database

Run end of day reports, production reports, invoices, and labels.

Handle customer complaints, provide appropriate solutions and alternatives within the time limits; follow up to ensure resolution.

Keep records of customer interactions, process customer accounts and file documents.

Works closely with AR department to resolve credit disputes.

Works with the Executive team for administrative tasks as assigned.

Follow communication procedures, guidelines and policies.

Take the extra mile to engage customers.

Other duties as assigned.

Skills:

Proven customer support experience or experience as a client service representative

Strong phone contact handling skills and active listening

Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different types of characters

Excellent communication and presentation skills

Excellent computer skills

Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively

Pay: $18-$21 hour

Schedule: During training will work Monday- Friday. Must have future Saturday availability. Holidays are a must.

Experience:

2 years of experience in customer service highly preferred

Be passionate about the food industry with a strong interest in high quality products

Strong organizational and decision-making skill, along with the ability to recognize what needs to be prioritized

Excellent communication skills including active listening.

Service-oriented and able to resolve customer grievances.

Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software.
