Operations Supervisor/Sales Associate for Furniture and Art Gallery

Job description

A furniture/art online gallery with an elevated design aesthetic featuring high quality home furnishings; including modern furniture, antiques, rare and unusual artifacts, fashionable collectibles and fine accessories, is looking for an Operations Supervisor / Sales Associate in our Red Hook, Brooklyn showroom. Primary Responsibilities:

· Assist the Operations Director with daily company operations and communication with consignors.

· Perform electronic and physical filing, scanning, and general office organization.

· Enter inventory data, create sales tags, and tag merchandise.

· Conduct website data entry, and write and edit content.

· Scan, send, and file contracts and inventory documents.

· Track merchandise status and update all relevant departments.

· Communicate with consignors regarding inventory, price approval, markdowns, reclaims, and donations.

· Proactively engage with clients, understand their needs, and provide personalized recommendations to drive sales of high-end furniture pieces.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring exceptional customer service and satisfaction.

· Learn and Maintain in-depth knowledge of our luxury furniture, including materials, design, and craftsmanship, to effectively communicate value to clients.

· Manage the scheduling, tracking, and delivery of luxury furniture shipments to ensure timely and efficient transportation.

· Communicate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and delivery services to coordinate logistics and resolve any issues that arise.

· Address and resolve any logistical issues, delays, or discrepancies promptly and effectively.

· Process payouts to consignors and manage payments for vendors and shipments.

Position Requirements:

· Highly motivated self-starter with exceptional organizational skills and a professional demeanor.

· Ability to work independently with minimal to no supervision.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to work across both Mac and PC platforms (QuickBooks experience not required).

· Analytical and detail-oriented with excellent accuracy.

· Ability to handle confidential information sensitively.

· Confidently interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.

· Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 42 per week
