Optical/Lab Positions for Growing Optical Practice
compensation: $20 -$35 hr+benefits

We are an independently owned and operated optical boutique with 35 years of history and three locations (Brooklyn, Upper East Side, Chelsea) looking for full-time candidates to assist in administrative roles. The majority of our staff have been with us for 5+ years and we are hoping to grow our team to match our expanding business. We are a full service optical store with multiple doctors and an in house finishing lab. We offer PTO , 401k, and Health Insurance and other benefits after 90 days of full time employment.
Ideal candidates for the role must be:

Candidates interested in Optician roles have duties that include:
-Taking proper measurements such as PD and seg height.
- Adjust/fit eyewear to patients
- Select the proper fit for eyewear given a patient’s prescription and optical measurements
- Simple repairs such as replacing eyewear screws and nosepads
- Selecting the proper lenses when considering a patient’s prescription and frame fit
- Neutralizing all cut jobs to double check accuracy
- Resolving optical issues for our patients and walk in customers
Candidates interested in Lab Technician roles (Santinelli equipment) have duties that include:
- Edging and installing prescription lenses into frames
- Cleaning and maintaining edger/lab equipment
- Repairs such as replacing screws/nose pads when necessary
- Bench aligning all jobs
- Neutralizing all jobs to confirm accuracy
