Sales Associate - Luxury Home Furnishings & Lighting

ROOM, a luxury home furnishings / lighting showroom with locations in Tribeca and Greenwich, CT, is currently seeking a high-energy, creative and outgoing dynamo to be our new Sales Associate.

The position entails working with a group of dedicated design lovers in a collaborative setting, working with customers new and old (mostly interior designers and architects) to develop new business and create new connections within the design world.

We’re looking for someone who loves design – both the fun front end in working with people and establishing relationships – as well as the back end, being supremely organized, meticulous and driven to excel in all areas.

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum 2 years in high end home furnishings sales.

Personality! Must have a genuine love of people, and a desire to meet new designers and cultivate relationships.

Competitive nature. We're looking for someone with a competitive edge, who really loves the process and closing the deal / cultivating that client relationship.

The person must be smart and meticulous, capable of writing a warm email welcome, and creating custom quotes quickly and without errors.

Organizational skills are very important. This is a job of juggling, and you must be a person who can organize projects, time and tasks.

The ideal candidate would have interest in going out on sales calls to meet new designers and create new relationships, as well as networking and attending industry events.

NOT REQUIRED, BUT HELPFUL:

Photoshop experience.

Graphic design experience.

A knack with social media.

Autocad or other 3D drawing experience.

DAILY DUTIES:

Working with walk-in customers in the store; demonstrating amazing product knowledge and personality.

Working on phoned and emailed quote requests.

Helping to maintain the showroom (supplies, samples, etc.)

Helping with all social media accounts.

Maintaining product information: updating prices in our system and on web site, adding in new product images, updating tear sheets, etc.

Pitching in however needed!

DAYS / HOURS / LOCATION:

We will consider a Monday through Friday position, but prefer Tuesday through Saturday. Hours are 10-6.

Work is mainly from Tribeca, with some time in Greenwich occasionally.

COMPENSATION:

Base + commission, commensurate with experience.

3 weeks paid vacation, some work from home days after trial period.
