Toy Tokyo has been a staple of the East Village in Manhattan since we opened our doors in August, 2000. We specialize in the sale of toys & collectibles from around the world. Our store is known as a must visit location for serious and casual toy collectors who live in & visit NYC.
We are currently looking to fill a part time sales & store associate position in our retail store at 91 Second Avenue. Position would start as part time with full time potential once employee becomes familiar with store operations.
Requirements for position:
-Punctuality. Must be on time!
-Ability to interact well with people on every level
-Flexibility of schedule
-Previous retail and/or customer service experience
-Basic computer skills
-Knowledge of/interest in collectible toys of all kinds (not required but definitely a plus!)
Duties include, but are not limited to:
-Helping customers with purchases & item selection
-Working register to complete sales
-Restocking items on store floor
-Accepting & processing deliveries of new stock
-Cleaning around store & stock storage areas
-Entering data into store POS system
-Helping with special events (store signings, conventions, etc.)
While we take toys & collecting seriously, Toy Tokyo is not a corporate environment. Our main goal is to bring joy to the people who come in our doors looking for something unique. We are looking for someone responsible, motivated and easy to get along with to join our team and help carry on our 2 decades plus tradition of offering unique toys to those who come through our door.
