About Flyfish Club:
Flyfish Club is an exclusive members club located on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, NYC. Created and operated by the VCR Group, Flyfish Club spans over three floors with a Restaurant and Bar, Private Dining Room, Cocktail Lounge that features live entertainment, as well as a 14 seat Omakase Room that offers two seatings every night.
Position Overview: We are seeking a talented and experienced Sommelier to join our team. The Sommelier plays a key role in upholding the wine service on the floor, maintaining and growing an extensive inventory, maximizing profit through up-selling all wine & cocktails, providing unique and thoughtful wine pairing experiences, contributing to our ongoing staff education program and keeping the team up to date of all changes to the wine list and the wine program.
Responsibilities:
Enhance Guest Experience: Collaborate to continuously improve guest experience, service quality and anticpiate every guests needs when it comes to bevergae.
Wine and Beverage Recommendations: Assist guests with wine and beverage selections.
Wine Maintenance: Assist in maintaning the wine cellar, ensuring inventory balance and control & keeping a cohesive and organized wine program.
Staff Education: Create and lead wine education seminars for the service team to advance their knowledge and skills.
Operational Support: Assist team members as needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations, including performing side work and maintaining clean, functional equipment.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a Sommelier in a high-end restaurant or private club setting.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and a genuine passion for hospitality.
Impeccable attention to detail and organizational abilities, with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in wine and sake, with a intrest in regional focused programs.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Knowledge of fine dining etiquette and a genuine interest in food and beverage culture.
