Job Description:
Job Summary:
The Software Developer Contractor will work with members of our team to design, develop, and integrate a trade restrictions service within the equity investments platform. In this role, the Software Developer will leverage various technologies to migrate and enhance existing on-prem business functionality into a new scalable service hosted on AWS. The service will interact with persistent data store and expose functionality through an API end-point, which will eventually be extended to support other segments of the business.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Work closely with other team members to implement and deploy required functionality.
• Develop flexible solutions to complex business problems using Parametric technology practices.
• Leverage scalable and distributed computing principles in building out new service.
• Understand existing functionality through discussions and analysis, including inspection of legacy code.
• Create unit/integration/functional/performance tests.
• Conduct code reviews of other developers.
• Resolve issues discovered from integration and testing.
• Preserve key design decisions, processes, and features through documentation.
• Share experience, knowledge, and ideas to the team to improve the process and product.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related area of study.
• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience with Java related technologies.
• Strong experience in relational database and SQL.
• Strong aptitude for highly efficient data structures and algorithms.
• Experience in agile development and Software Development Life Cycle.
• Experience in developing API end-points.
• Experience with version control systems and continuous integration.
• Experience in developing components in AWS.
• Experience creating and executing test plans.
• Able to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Java development experience required.
