As an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), you will be responsible for writing frameworks and tools to test products. You will be working directly with developers, QA engineers and product managers to ensure quality of our applications and platforms. It is a unique and challenging role and provides opportunities to design and develop wide-reaching tools. It combines the "building" aspect of software design engineering with the "breaking" aspect of software test engineering. This not only includes design & coding of new architecture and services, but also helping define the strategic direction for such systems. We are building systems from the ground up, so we are not tied to any one technology. Helping select the right technologies and envisioning a long-term architecture is part of the role, as is working with multiple internal and external distributed services. Finally, this being a new team, you'll have opportunities to help us build & grow the team via mentoring, hiring & training.
A day in the life
As a SDET, you will join the team of hands-on, passionate and seasoned SQA & SDE professionals developing innovative consumer-centric product solutions.
A typical day in this role comprises designing test automation frameworks, building pipelines, developing sample test cases for the QA team to build on, reviewing test framework proposals for easiness of test case development, reviewing overall progress of frameworks and tools development. A successful engineer looks ahead and participates in roadmap planning of product quality, and expands the scope to program-manage this work.
