We are seeking strong candidates for a computer repair/data recovery specialist role with a minimum of 3 years experience in IT, computer repair, and troubleshooting experience. The ideal candidate will have a passion for continuing their career growth in our Brooklyn office. We offer both theoretical and hands-on training for newly hired employees.
Job Duties:
Testing software and hardware components to ensure proper functionality
Performing regular preventive maintenance procedures on all computer systems and components, including replacing worn or outdated parts
Troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues, both on-site and remotely
Installing and configuring operating systems, software, and hardware components, storage components
Providing technical support to end-users and assisting with computer-related issues, including hardware, software, and network connectivity
Maintaining accurate inventory records of all computer systems, components, and software licenses
Maintaining updated knowledge of industry advancements and new technology trends through continuous training and professional development opportunities.
Registering received data storage devices in the company system and labeling devices/parts for proper storage
Performing diagnostics, documenting technical findings, defining the method for data retrieval, and submitting reports to the supervisor
Recovering data using company-approved procedures, which may include opening devices, changing parts, soldering, and repairing
Qualifications:
Experience in IT/computer repair services
Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Mac, Linux, Unix, Solaris, FreeBSD)
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Understanding of computer hardware components for troubleshooting and upgrades
Experience in hardware repair (computers, soldering, electronics, hard drives, etc.)
Knowledge of file systems (NTFS, HFS, APFS, etc.)
Understanding of data storage device principles (hard drives, solid-state drives, USB flash drives)
Associate's degree in IT/computer science or a related technical field
Data recovery service experience
Experience with data recovery hardware tools and cleanroom work
Knowledge of data encryption and algorithms
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Ability to analyze and meet customer needs
High level of attention to detail and accuracy
Up-to-date technology knowledge and self-learning skills
Willingness to work weekends and overtime as needed
Ability to read and understand training materials and instructions
Workdays: Monday-Friday, 9:00 am-6:00 pm (40 hours per week)
Location: Brooklyn, NY 11229 (no remote work)
