We are hiring a Fabrication Lead to join the Fabrication Division of our Design + Build team.
This role will consist of working in our shop with our Fabrication Director and Design Team to create custom millwork and specialty fabrication items for Commercial and Residential projects. This role is best suited for someone who enjoys working with a broad range of materials to create unique pieces that become the feature of our overall project design.
At Bolt, we have a team of talented Designers, Project Managers, and Fabricators who work together to make the unexpected happen. We have a 4,800 SF shop with a 3-axis CNC machine located down the road from our main office in Greenpoint Brooklyn.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the production of select in-house fabrication pieces
- Manage the fabrication schedule and adjust priorities as needed to align with overall project schedules
- Assemble, Direct, and Manage an in-house team of fabrication assistants
- Manage Quality-Control to meet/exceed company standards
- Oversee the maintenance and quality of all in-house Tools
- Assist with CNC fabrication as needed (we have an in-house CNC machine)
Key Skills
- Confidence in all things fabrication (wood working, joinery, edge banding, etc)
- Deep Knowledge of Wood working and finish carpentry
- Full understanding of wood species and material quality
- Ability to comprehend and work from Shop Drawings
- Familiarity working with a broad range of materials (wood, metal, concrete, plexi, ext)
- High attention to fine details
- Knowledge of all Typical Fabrication Shop tools and standards
