Title: Facilities & Maintenance Coordinator

Location(s): All Sites (39 Broadway Downtown Manhattan, West Harlem, Bronx- Hunt's Point) (This is NOT a Remote Position)

Summary:The Facilities Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production, transportation, and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems, and processes to support Food Bank For New York City’s business goals and objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct and document regular facilities inspections (daily, weekly, monthly)

HVAC and electrical wiring experience

Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and industry codes

Obtain estimates for supplies, repair parts; orders parts as needed.

Inspects and oversees life/ environment health & safety systems.

Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment.

Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.

Perform mechanical skills including mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting.

Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and make necessary adjustments.

Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.

Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.

Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.

Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations with proper supervision.

Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Responds to emergencies after regularly scheduled work hours summoning additional assistance as needed.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Assist cleaning personnel in general house cleaning

Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years of experience

Any combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described including related work experience in one or more of the building trades.

Knowledge of methods used in maintenance

Basic knowledge of the following trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, masonry, grounds keeping, appliance repair, and electrical wiring

Standard practices and tools used in the maintenance and repair of building facilities; safety practices and procedures related to the building trades; basic math skills.

Skill and Ability to effectively use a variety of hand and power tools; read blueprints, follow oral and/or written instructions; communicate effectively in both oral and written form; maintain work logs; establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work assignments.

Must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle (occasional driving as needed)

Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
