We are a sustainable interior design studio based in Red Hook, Brooklyn. We create custom furniture and commercial interiors from 99% rescued materials. The ideal candidate for this position is experienced in multiple areas of carpentry with the ability to work on designs from conception to completion. We are looking to add a talented individual to our team with an appreciation of all aspects of the production, from the structural to the creative elements. You possess advanced carpentry skills along with proficiency in all areas of fabrication including painting, crafting, sanding and finishing. Metalworking is a plus. You will also be responsible for assisting with local pick-ups from our partners in the neighborhood. Having a license is not required but a plus. You must have a good attitude about doing all aspects of the job, understanding everything you do is a chance to learn. We are a tight knit team who work in unique and creative ways.
CARPENTER POSTITION:
Experience in fabrication, navigating all tools in the wood shop and production workflow
3-5 years of experience building and or assembling and finishing furniture
Excited by the challenge of working with repurposed materials
Experience with woodworking joinery and jigs
Experience reading and building from assembly prints
Experience in all sanding and finishing techniques
Ability to navigate well with all basic carpentry tools
Must be reliable and have a positive attitude
Ability to work beyond 40 hours per week if required (not required).
Possess an ability to problem solve different aspects of engineering the production of a piece
A motivated and design-oriented team player
Familiarity with other materials such as resin, metal and stone a plus
