SUMMARY:
Responsible for preparing surfaces, spackling, skimming (Level 5) and sanding, assisting others with their activities as required.
ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Preparing surfaces for painting by sanding, stripping, filling, caulking, etc.
Tapes and sands drywall, plasters large areas, and repairs wall surface defects.
Installs protection on areas surrounding the work area to be painted
Occasionally helps other tradespersons as required with their activities by moving/stacking materials and supplies and general helping, materials removal by demolishing walls/floors/ceilings, carrying out debris and removing nails/staples/hinges/carpet tack strips, etc., cleans sites by removing garbage/trash, sweeping floors and cleaning power tools/equipment.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma with a minimum of 3 years of experience in skimming, taping and spackling. Strong verbal and multi-tasking skills required. Knowledge of power tools also required.m!
