DCM Fabrication, a dynamic fabrication shop in Brooklyn, is looking for a highly skilled and adaptable Fabricator to join our diverse team. This role encompasses a range of tasks across various materials, including but not limited to wood and metal. The ideal candidate will be proficient in multiple fabrication techniques and demonstrate a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
Objectives of this Role:
Work with minimal supervision to achieve high standards of quality and precision.
Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools used in fabrication.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure safety and efficiency.
Daily Responsibilities:
Execute various fabrication techniques, including TIG, to assemble or repair components in metal and wood.
Interpret drawings to determine the best methods, materials, and equipment for each project.
Conduct inspections of materials and completed work to ensure adherence to specifications.
Fabricate, assemble, and install structures and components as per project requirements.
Collaborate with team members to plan and execute projects effectively, sharing expertise across disciplines.
Stay informed about the latest fabrication techniques and technologies to enhance skills continuously.
Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience in metal fabrication, with expertise in welding (TIG and MIG),
Proven experience in wood fabrication, comfortable usage of miter and table saw
Understanding of the properties of various metals, wood, and composite materials.
Proficient in preparing, grinding, sanding, and finishing materials for assembly.
Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Strong problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Capability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
