AVAILABLE POSITION
PIPE FITTER / WELDER (East Elmhurst, NY)
Starting Pay: $35-$45/hr. (based on experience)
Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Measure and cut piping materials to specifications.
Fabricate and assemble welded spool pieces.
Perform welding using STIG, MIG, and TIG methods.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols and regulations.
Collaborate with the Branch/Shop Manager to ensure timely project completion.
Troubleshoot and resolve piping and welding issues as they arise.
Document work performed and maintain accurate records of materials and time spent.
Requirements:
5+ years of experience working as a pipefitter/welder.
Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
AWS certified welder.
DOB card required.
Knowledge of hydraulic cutters, threading, and grooving (300 & 700 machines).
Knowledge of utility procedures (ConEd and National Grid) is a plus.
Electrical experience is a plus.
High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certification preferred.
Proficient in various welding techniques and pipe fitting methods.
Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulations.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to lift heavy materials and equipment (up to 50 pounds).
Capability to work in various positions, including standing, kneeling, and bending.
