The Senior Associate, Communications serves as a project manager, writer and content creator, and also acts as a project liaison to track and update project data.
The selected candidate will contribute to the success of our national Engagement and Client Technology Practice and must have some experience in communication, preferably in employee communication solutions. Knowledge of human resources and benefits is a plus, but not required.
Consulting/Client Delivery
Manages projects after scope determined; experience managing communications projects in various formats, including online, print, video, etc. and understands the various aspects of the delivery process, including drafting, approvals, design, production, etc.
Assists senior staff with preparation of project schedules and budgets
Manages project timelines and budgets ensuring on-time delivery, within budget
Monitors project changes (i.e., budget, scope) and advises Client Manager/Account Executive/client to manage expectations
Make adjustments to work product as needed to meet client needs or incorporate new information
Communicates with team to establish goals and parameters of projects
Liaises and coordinates with freelance designers and communicators, printers, translators and other vendors
Attends client meetings to gather information, establish needs, clarify expectations, develop strategy and obtain feedback with supervision by senior staff
Contributes to content development and edits for client deliverables that are designed to engage employees and drive desired behaviors
Proofs and edits colleagues drafts
Develops detailed knowledge and understanding of client personality, message consistency and accuracy
Ensures message consistency, accuracy and appropriate client tone
Develops working knowledge of Human Resources (benefits, compensation, change management)
Develops detailed understanding of communications and HR issues pertinent to client projects
Assists with the preparation and timely submission of invoices
Shares and collaborates by contributing samples and sharing case studies with the Engagement practice
Bilingual in English and French preferred
Business Development
Assists with new business development with existing clients and prospects from other practice areas
Support CMs, AEs and consultants with research and concept development for proposals
Helps expand client relationships by reviewing project activity and identifying opportunities for growth
Assists in the preparation of presentations and new business proposals
Attend meetings with clients and plays a supporting role in discussions on client needs and available services
Other Qualifications
Undergraduate degree, preferably in English, Business, Communications or related field
Demonstrates strong attention to detail, excellent organization and time management skills
Demonstrates detailed understanding of all aspects of communication process
Superior written communication skills and strong oral communication skills
Certifications (CEBS or investment/financial related) and industry affiliations (IABC, IFEBP) are definitely a plus, but not required
2-4 years in communications and HR. Likely to come from corporate communications, public relations, journalism, advertising, marketing, corporate benefits or benefits industry. Consulting background preferred.
Basic knowledge of Human Resources (e.g., benefits, pension, compensation, change management) and Communication business (e.g., content, design, production, technology)
Works well within a team and independently, when needed
Demonstrates creativity
Demonstrates client relationship potential
