Upper Saranac Foundation (USF) is looking to hire 1 diver and 1 topwater personnel to assist in managing aquatic invasive species. We are looking for someone who loves being out on the water and has a desire to preserve the natural character of our waterways.
Have an interest in diving but not certified? We will help you to get certification! All full-time employees have the opportunity to receive a bonus of up to $1,000 upon successful completion of the diving season.
The diver’s primary responsibility will be to hand-harvest underwater invasive plants to prevent their spread throughout the waterbody. Diver certification is preferred. On the job training to become certified is available.
Topwater personnel will assist divers in removing aquatic invasive plants from the water, guide divers, record plant locations, and record harvesting amounts.
Work Schedule: Seasonally, four 10-hour days, generally Monday-Thursday into the fall. Staff will work in the Upper Saranac Lake and Tri-Lakes region.
Special Skills Wanted: Diver Certification preferred / On the job training to become certified
Other Job Requirements: Candidates for this position must enjoy the outdoors, teamwork, and like being on and in the water.
