In general, the seniors we serve have physical challenges due to aging and dementia. This role requires a nurturing and empathetic individual whose approach to care is one that enhances the quality of clients lives and those of their family members.
Duties:
Provide one-on-one care to clients with a variety of care needs, including those with dementia, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
Assist clients with daily living activities and provide emotional support
Provide medication reminders.
Assist with meal preparation.
Encourage social interaction and provide recreational activities when appropriate.
Document client progress and provide regular updates to caregivers, family members and agency personnel.
Maintain a safe and clean environment.
Adhere to confidentiality standards.
Qualifications:
8+ years caregiving experience preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience working with seniors, especially those with dementia.
Valid driver's license with a reliable vehicle.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintain confidentiality.
Experience with medication reminders.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Compassionate and empathetic nature with a focus on providing exceptional care.
Skills:
Build empathtic relationships with aging adults.
Provide dementia care.
Experience in home care or a care facility beneficial but not required.
Ability and desire to plan and engage with clients in activities of their choosing.
Experience with caregiving and supporting older adults beneficial.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and dedication to maintaining confidentiality.
