Pace Analytical Services, LLC., a leading national environmental analytical laboratory, is seeking highly motivated candidates for a Laboratory Technician II position within our mobile lab department. This laboratory is a part of the Pace family of nationwide environmental testing laboratories (www.pacelabs.com) and specializes in niche pesticide residue and PCB analysis and is also the headquarters of the Pace Mobile Lab Services division. This is a contract position for a mobile laboratory operation in Massena, NY, with significant opportunity to join Pace Analytical full-time after the 9-month contract period is over.
SUMMARY: Performs routine scientific tasks under close supervision or from detailed and controlled laboratory procedures. May gather and maintain specified records of scientific date for supervisor and can perform routine chemical or biological analyses.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyze or prepare environmental samples in an efficient and organized manner using approved Pace Analytical methodologies for instrumentation.
Document reagent preparation, analytical response and observations, more complex calculations of results and quality assurance data.
Keep the laboratory clean and safe (knowledge of safety rules).
Assists other laboratory personnel with analysis, data check and approval.
Enter data into Pace lab data management system and monitor computer printouts.
Attend and partake in company and divisional Quality Assurance meetings.
Provide maintenance of stock reagents and lab supplies.
Work on special projects with supervision of chemist or manager.
Review Pace Analytical methodologies.
Promotes cooperation and teamwork among staff.
Must follow Pace Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
May be assigned other duties.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associate degree and 2 or more years equivalent environmental laboratory experience.
