A NYC government agency located in Queens (Long Island City), NY is looking for REDCap Subject Matter Expert (SME). The contract is currently set to last till the end of March 2022 with a high probability of becoming a multi-year engagement.

The City agency is seeking a qualified consultant for a REDCap Subject Matter Expert (SME) role. REDCap is a web application created by Vanderbilt University for building and managing online surveys and databases. The agency has implemented an on-premise instance of REDCap which it uses for internal and pubic-facing users. It plans to use REDCap to accept healthcare provider reports as well as for the On-Call Doctor program through which agency clinicians answer questions from external healthcare providers. Users that require application support include epidemiologists, data analysts, call center operators, and clinicians.

Detailed Responsibilities:


  • The consultant will work with DOHMH staff to properly capture issues and assist with resolution. The consultant will ensure proper follow-up occurs and that all issues are resolved within an estimated timeframe. In addition, the consultant will:



  • Maintain user access

  • Set up just-in-time training for new users

  • Ensure needed updates / upgrades are made

  • Assist with upgrades and system QA

  • Assist users in application usage and other administrative actions within the application

  • Troubleshoot issues and perform system maintenance tasks



    • The consultant will assist with migration of the On-Call Doctor and Reporting Central projects to a new platform including XML transformation of data for downstream systems including Maven.



    Required Skills & Experience:


    • The consultant must have 3+ years of in-depth experience with REDCap

    • The consultant must have 3+ years of experience working with SQL Server, SQL server Integration Services, Web Services, Azure, and other related technologies

    • Experience with XML generation and familiarity with application integration methodologies

    • Experience with single sign-on (SSO) solutions and user identify management

    • Ability to work closely with vendor, business stakeholders and technology teams to identify solutions, execute project deliverables and implement and work with business and technology to execute project deliverables according to plan



    Desired Skills:


    • Experience working with City of New York agencies is a plus but not mandatory

    • Public health experience is a plus, but not mandatory
