Currently, we are looking for an experienced professional to join Insurance team as: Insurance Specialist This opportunity may be perfect for you if you have experience in: Customer Service Filing Microsoft Office ABOUT THE POSITION In this position, you would be responsible for providing quality customer service, processing customer requests and transactions, and reviewing policies for accuracy prior to completion. Maintain documentation, log daily activities and transactions in management system, and follow-up on open suspense to keep current within Company guidelines. Provide administrative support to help meet department and Company goals.This position will also support our front desk. Responsibilities :

Maintain documentation of daily activities and transactions; process insurance transactions including: payments, renewals, invoices, endorsements, reinstatements and tasks assigned within guidelines.

Process change requests including cancellations, policy and premium corrections from error reports, any insurance proof of coverage and transaction changes to carriers for processing as assigned within guidelines. Perform claim reporting and handling.

Process auto identification cards, certificates, premium collection, payments to insurance carriers, and document payments in insurance management system as assigned within guidelines; conduct research as appropriate.

Receive public and answer questions (as permitted by NYS Department of Insurance) in person, by telephone, or via email – referring customers to Support Professionals as appropriate; provide consistent, outstanding customer service by anticipating and reacting to customer needs.

File documents manually and electronically based on established criteria; prepare correspondence and reports in timely and accurate manner to meet department goals and objectives.

Prepare premium quotations and proposals using a combination of knowledge/experience, available comparative rating tools and carrier quoting systems for data.

Perform vehicle inspections; act as liaison between client and carrier to insure claims are handled in timely manner.

High School Diploma or equivalent experience required

2 years of experience in insurance environment preferred

Skills/Knowledge:

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; comfortable interacting with customers, co-workers and management

Knowledge of underwriting insurance coverages and insurance management systems a plus

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize work and meet strict deadlines

Attention to detail a must; skilled in filing both electronic and hard copy documentation

Physical Demands

Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time and walk/stand for brief periods of time.

Must be able to repetitively use a telephone and computer mouse and keyboard.

Ability to lift/move up to 15 lbs.

The salary range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00 commensurate with experience and education.
