POSITION PURPOSES
Create assembly and full detail part drawings using CAD software. Provide assistance where needed in the design and development of complex mechanical, electromechanical and pneumatic devices. Assemble and test prototypes as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Creation of 3D models using Creo Elements (Pro/Engineer), including creation of advanced exploded views and family tables.
Creation of parametric component and assembly drawings using driven dimensions and tolerancing.
Manage and maintain drawings, parts, assemblies and family tables in the Windchill database.
Create, control and maintain drawings, process sheets, inspection procedures and job packages.
Carry out engineering changes via Engineering Control Notice (ECN) process.
Create and document all bills of material, drawings, and life test data for all new projects and redesigned existing products.
Actively participate in the mechanical design and development of products to appropriately integrate with other designs for the purpose of meeting overall product design specifications.
Actively participate as a member of the New Product Development technical team as needed.
Utilize knowledge of mechanical principles to assemble prototypes using hand tools and measuring instruments.
Set up and operate test equipment for performance evaluation of developmental projects and record results.
Provide manufacturing support as necessary to ensure the attainment of shipment goals.
Work independently with minimal supervision.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Perform other duties as required or assigned by management.
EDUCATION
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering preferred or equivalent combination of
education and experience.
EXPERIENCE
3-5 years design engineering with a background in mechanical and/or electrical design & troubleshooting. Fluency with PTC Creo Elements (Pro/Engineer) required
SKILLS/ABILITIES
Experience using PTC Windchill preferred
Infor SyteLine ERP experience a plus
Strong component and assembly blueprint reading skills
GD&T and standard tolerancing knowledge
Creo family table creation/maintenance knowledge
Schematic and basic electrical knowledge a plus
Experience writing work instructions
Well organized including attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently or in a team environment
Ability to set-up and operate test equipment
Experience with Windows-based products
