PRACTICE OVERVIEW
We are a new law firm opening in January 2025. Ideally, we are seeking an Attorney licensed in both New York and the District of Columbia. However, an Attorney only licensed in New York should apply. Practice area will be criminal law. Law firm will be headquartered in the District of Columbia with an office in Syracuse, NY. Law firm will operate under DC Rules of Professional Responsibility ยง5.4(b) which allows for nonlawyer investors in the law firm.
Law firm will provide the Attorney clients in New York ranging from criminal law cases to DUI cases. New Attorneys are welcome to apply. During the month of January, law firm is expected to have around twenty (20) prospective clients in New York. Law firm will notify the Attorney when there are clients. Law firm will provide the Attorney with an Assistant. Law firm will pay Attorney through partnership equity, which shall be 40%.
Attorney will be paid 40% partnership equity in the law firm for each case. For example, a DUI case for $3,000, Attorney will receive 40% of the fee which is $1,200, at the close of business each day, for the DUI case. Attorney should expect to handle around ten DUI cases per month. Expected income for the Attorney each month is around $12,000. However, the Attorney will be paid per case. For a criminal law case at $30,000, Attorney will receive 40% of the fee. Attorney has the right to accept or decline cases.
