Looking for a one to one Support staff to help an intelligent and energetic young woman with a developmental disability to work on her goals in the community. Her goals include working on developing a calendar of activities of her interest for her days, working on communication skills via facilitated communication/supported typing, and becoming more independent with personal care tasks.
Candidate MUST have experience with facilitated communication/supported typing.
Ideal candidate will be experienced with supporting people with developmental disabilities and personal care needs, as well as reliable, creative, respectful, open to new ideas and patient.
Days and hours are flexible
In addition to the hourly wage, the mentor will be reimbursed .55 cents/mile for transporting her in the mentor's vehicle.
A background check will be required
This opportunity is through one of CNY's fastest growing Not-For-Profit organizations and could lead to other opportunities for additional hours with other individuals within the agency.
