Job DescriptionInsight Global is looking for a data scientist to sit 2 days/ week in Tarrytown, NY and 3 days remote for a large pharmaceutical client. This data scientists will be joining the Research IT and preclinical IT team and will be working with research scientists, scientific BAs, data curators and the research data lake team. This scientist will work with these teams to develop and apply AI/ML model and analytical algorithms to our scientific and operational data, in order to gain more insight to accelerate drug discovery and development. They will work with the data warehouse, look at scientific data in the space and organize, integrate, and process data then perform analysis and make predictions on the data samples they have and see if they have something similar to make experimental predictions. In the beginning of projects, they will work with scientists and SBAs to understand their challenges, look at the source of data and answer questions then once the data source is identified they will do more coding, extracting and predictions. Example: as a research company they work to identify a target- target can be a molecule that is similar to human health then they develop therapeutics in house to address if it negatively impacts human health with invitro studies and understand the molecule sequence and move is to cell lines to see how the molecule behaves in a cell line. Later they will move it to animals and humans and the data they pull from this is image data, flow data, very complex data and they will use all of this information to help make predictions. This role will mainly be interacting with team members, understanding issues and challenges and helping to organize, integrate and process data to make predictions and then Develop front end user interface for data presentation and visualization (15% of their time).Skills and Requirements-5+ years' experience as a Data Scientist with data cleaning, analyzing, visualization & data mining-5+ years' experience analyzing structured and unstructured data sources-Experience with data analysis tools like spotfire, power BI, tableau, apache spark, etc-2+ years of recent experience working with scientists or within pharma/ biotech-Masters in data science, statistics.
