OverviewAbout the Program: Jamaica Community Partnership Program organizes local public and private stakeholders; builds their capacity to support and stabilize families; and engages them with the Administration of Children's Services (ACS) and other City agencies through coordinated service referral, community-led programs, community awareness efforts, and informing City policy and practice related to child and family well-being. About the Role Manage the operation of the Jamaica Community Partnership to ensure the five main program goals are met: Build Partnerships, Coordinate Service Referral and Utilization, Build Community Capacity and Social Capital, Support Community Knowledge Sharing and Collaborate with City Agencies. Responsibilities

Maintain strong, long-term working partnerships with stakeholders, including grassroots leaders, faith leaders, Community Based Organizations (CBO) staff and leadership, and government agencies and officials. Participate, collaborate, and support community events and partner initiatives.

Build a diverse network of public and private stakeholders, including the creation of formal linkage agreements

Supervise and train the Community Partnership Community Organizer

Identify, recruit and retain a diverse group of community ambassadors

Have a comprehensive understanding of services and resources available through community providers and organizations, as well as City agency programs

Maintain an inventory of services and resources for children, youth and families

Coordinate community perspectives to inform City agency policy and programs

Develop outreach, public education and community engagement plans to recruit and maintain member organizations

Coordinate and track referrals between member organizations

Organize community events and trainings for membership to include topics such as: racial equity, gender equity, LGBTQ inclusion, social justice, immigrant rights, and addressing implicit bias in service provision

Engage public partners working on efforts related to child and family well-being

Facilitate monthly stakeholder meetings

Ensure Compliance with funding mandates and track deliverables

Attend ACS-sponsored and other training as required

Establish and administer community performance metrics to track success of initiatives and community needs

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field

Experience working with coalitions and community organizing initiatives

At least 5 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership position managing community-based programs serving children, youth and families

Knowledge of the Jamaica Queens community

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Prior experience with facilitating training

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel

Comfort traveling throughout NYC

Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes late evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday (some weekends as needed) at Rising Ground’s Jamaica Hub at 91-14 Merrick Blvd, Jamaica NY 11432. Work hour options are flexible 8 hour shifts from 9:00 am - 8:00 pm.

Additional Requirements:

Authorized to work in the U.S.

Ability to work in-person in New York City (NY) for at least 2 days or more per week.

Ability to travel to other Rising Ground sites (if required)
