Post Doctoral Associate - Biomolecular Condensates (Jones Lab)

The Jonesy lab in the Chemistry Department of NYU is looking for a talented post-doctoral associate to perform interdisciplinary work on studying RNA structure, RNA-protein interactions, and dynamics, with a focus on biomolecular condensates.Successful applicants will be highly motivated with an interest in working in Chemical/Structural Biology and must hold a Ph.D. degree in a related field (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, Biophysics). The ideal candidate will have strong research experience, publications, and background knowledge in:i) in vitro RNA transcription and purificationii) protein expression (bacterial and/or insect cultures) and purification.iii) biomolecular condensatesThe candidate will also help with mentorship and training graduate and undergraduate students.The position offers a one-year term of employment, with the possibility of renewal, featuring a competitive salary and additional benefits, including access to subsidized NYU housing in New York City. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis starting in December 2024, and candidates will be considered until the position is filled. The role is fully funded by existing grants, and the start date can be immediate if necessary. In accordance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary for this position is set at $62,500. New York University evaluates factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
