We are seeking a Career Minded Counter Salesperson / Backup Driver for our branch in Utica, NY.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The objective is to provide the most efficient service and technical support to all current and potential customers visiting our retail showroom or calling into the company.
Accurately fill customer orders and branch transfers while maintaining inventory counts throughout the process of shipping and receiving product.
Maintain an organized and clean work space so the work in process is safe and efficient.
Experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to multi-task
Proficient with computers and data entry
Team player
Experience with counter sales in industrial or manufacturing environment preferred
Knowledge of welders and welding supplies a plus.
Employee will also act as a delivery driver when main driver is not available.
Job functions include:
Loading truck for delivery
Local deliveries
Pulling customer orders, and delivering product
Completing paperwork in a timely and accurate fashion
Maintaining the truck in a clean and orderly condition
Conduct daily inspections of the vehicle at the end of shift and report any problems or damage to management
Observe and Report equipment or mechanical failures immediately
Manage routes and routines so they proceed in the most efficient way possible
Comply with all DOT and in-house rules and regulations
Serve as a brand advocate and ambassador in every interaction with clients and the public.
Qualified applicant will have or be willing to obtain a CDL Class A or B (Hazmat Endorsement a plus).
Requirements for Backup Driver:
High school diploma or GED Required
CDL Class A or B license in good standing with Medical Card
Hazmat (H Endorsement) preferred
No serious tickets or accidents in the last 5 years
Minimum of 1 year Commercial driving experience preferred
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
Strong customer service orientation both externally and internally
Diligent attention to Safety and Detail
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 40 to 42 hours a week
