UPSTATE SERVE LLC is an experienced legal process serving company in search of a full time process server/ courier. We deliver court documents to business, courts and individuals throughout New York State. Valid Drivers license, criminal background check, reliable vehicle and smart phone, and willingness to work and due diligence are key tools needed to start.
You will be your own private contractor and open a d/b/a within the county. Availability is key to making money. We get a lot of last minute rush cashes that pay extra. Attention to detail, time management and thinking off the cuff are essential characteristics our company is looking for. Pay is based on experience and proficiency.
Having a reliable vehicle is the most important tool for the job as you will drive usually 200-300 miles on a busy day. Usually the more you drive the more you make. You will have certain deadlines to meet and you will have to base a schedule around those priority jobs along with the routine. Most of your work will be done in Onondaga and Oswego County and our Office is located in Jefferson County.
You will be required to dress in appropriate attire as you are in and out of court houses, attorneys offices, Attorney Generals office, at residential address, you are a representative of the court system.
Professionalism, patience, and being able to know how to defuse a situation will be a daily factor of your proficiency. Willingness to knock on doors of the defendant and neighbors asking the right questions to find the answers our clients are looking for.
Typically, one day a week will be an early morning run be in Onondaga County by 7am back by the end of the business day or sooner. One mid day 9-5 or 6 and one late day 2-8 or 9 latest. This will be a 4 to 5 day a week job.
