Slack Chemical Company is seeking candidates to fill mechanic positions at its Carthage, NY facility.
Job Description:
Repairs and maintains a diversified fleet of trucks and trailers and other equipment according to company preventive maintenance guidelines.
Performs scheduled maintenance including changing oil, filters, tires, brakes, checking lights, greasing, replace or repair light components and perform operations check.
Ensure all equipment is repaired up to Federal Commercial Motor Carrier DOT standards.
Responsibilities:
Performs work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy.
Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair.
Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required.
Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
Requirements:
2 years experience / past work references.
Valid driver’s license.
Be able to lift up to 70 lbs., frequently stand, stoop, kneel, crawl.
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
Pass background and drug test.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Computer skills, including, but not limited to: Microsoft Office, Internet Browser.
Valid CDL is a plus.
NYS Heavy Duty Inspectors license is a plus (not mandatory, must be willing to apply).
Must have minimum tools to perform the maintenance and repair work.
