We are growing our team at Blackmor, CPA, PLLC, located in the beautiful mountains of Western NC. We are a remote accounting department that serves post-acute healthcare companies across the U.S., so no audit or tax work. Our clients are loyal and extremely pleasant to work with, and our work is consistent and year-round vs. the traditional busy season burnout model. We are a flexible, work-life balance, close-knit, casual dress yet highly-skilled and motivated team of professionals. In this way, we're not your 'typical' CPA firm.

We consider technical proficiency a 'must-have' skill set, both in the typical areas like accounting systems, Excel and Office, but also in general computer use. We have high customer service standards since we interact and work alongside our clients on a daily basis through phone and email communications. Our structure assigns clients to dedicated individuals on our team, so candidates will need to understand customer service to a dedicated client base typically with long-term relationships.

Our compensation structure is to offer a solid base with incentive based on the total clients you serve. This means you're ultimately responsible for your compensation, which is tied to how we're doing both quantitatively and qualitatively.

Commitment to work/life balance our hours revolve around monthly deadlines, so some weeks of the month are busier than others, but at the end of the day we care about results not hours

Rises to both new challenges and works well with routines new client setups require quick-thinking and learning new systems and processes (this would be later on when you're comfortable with our standards), while established clients require adherence to checklists, routines and deadlines

Helpful But Not Required

Experience in healthcare a plus

Experience in CYMA accounting system and F9 reporting tool helpful but not necessary (easy to learn)

You have a degree and background in accounting or are a certified and experienced bookkeeper. However, we are more concerned about temperament, skills and work ethic than a piece of paper

Job Requirements

Solid understanding of GAAP

Experience with month-end closing, account reconciliations and financial reporting (income statement, balance sheet and cash flows)

Ability to proactively determine priorities and meet deadlines

Detail-oriented and organized

Education and Experience

Associates degree or higher in bookkeeping or accounting

Experience in accounting field may be considered in place of a degree

Proficient with Microsoft Office and accounting software

High degree of proficiency in Excel

Strong general computer proficiency

Must be able to work in a 'typical' office environment, sit at a desk and work proficiently without unreasonable accommodation to be able to do so.
