Companion needed for my adult brother with Autism. He is physically fit and likes to spend time outdoors and at the Y. He cannot drive or cook for himself, but has a daily routine that he adheres to that helps him maintain as many independence skills he can manage.
I would love for someone with a background in special Ed or elementary Ed to help him work on his routine skills or sign language, but it's not a mandatory part of the day.
You do need to be kind, patient, and punctual, and have reliable transportation.
This is a great job for someone active that likes to get outside. He does not want to sit around all day and he does not watch TV.
Shifts are 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM and 3:30PM to 8:30 PM and ideally, you could do 3 shifts per week. If you enjoy it, you can do more.
